唐晓艳,女,汉族,教授,博导, 1965年07月13日出生于辽宁省,中国科学基金海外杰出青年获得者,2010年入选中组部千人计划和北京海聚工程引进人才计划。唐博士在植物分子生物学和植物分子病理学研究领域做出了卓越贡献,享有很高的学术地位。她获得多项美国农业部、美国国家自然基金、美国国家健康研究院和堪萨斯州农业委员会的项目支持,在基础植物分子生物学、遗传学、生物化学、细胞生物学、功能基因组学等研究领域取得了卓越成就,并在农业生物技术研究的研究和应用研究方面积累了丰富经验。唐博士发表论文和专著46篇,获得美国专利一项,多篇论文发表在世界尖端学术期刊,如 “Science” “PNAS”, “Plant Cell”, “Current Biology”, “EMBO J.” 论文已被引用超过2400余次,多篇论文引用超过100次。唐博士多次被邀请为美国农业部和美国国家自然基金研究项目评审组成员。 2007年,唐博士受邀担任国际知名植物病理刊物“Molecular Plant Microbe Interaction”的副主编。

研究领域
主要研究领域是植物分子病理,包括病原菌致病机理和作物抗病机理,主要探讨植物病原细菌三型分泌系统的组成、功能、及调控。三型分泌系统是病原细菌的最重要致病元件。细菌进入植物体内后,编码三型分泌系统的基因受植物信号诱导。通过三型分泌系统,病原细菌将多种毒性蛋白(包括无毒蛋白)注入植物细胞内。毒性蛋白通过抑制植物抗病反应而使植物发病。在病原细菌和植物共进化过程中,植物进化出抗病基因,特异识别来自病原菌的毒性蛋白,进一步诱导抗病反应。唐博士的研究针对以下问题:植物调节三型分泌系统的信号是什么?病原细菌如何感应及传导调节信号?病原菌拥有多少种毒性蛋白?毒性蛋白如何导致发病?无毒蛋白如何激活抗病反应?
